The BD Insyte™ Autoguard™ BC Pro IV Catheter is a safety-engineered peripheral intravenous catheter designed to provide reliable vascular access while helping protect healthcare workers from needlestick injuries and blood exposure. The device features push-button needle shielding technology, which instantly retracts and encapsulates the needle after insertion, supporting safer clinical practice.
The catheter incorporates Blood Control Technology (BC) to help minimise blood leakage during insertion, allowing clinicians to perform one-handed insertion without the need for venous compression. The catheter is made from BD Vialon™ biomaterial, which softens in the vein to improve patient comfort and reduce the risk of mechanical phlebitis.
With BD Instaflash™ needle technology, a notched needle design enables clear visualisation of blood return along the catheter shaft, helping improve insertion accuracy and first-stick success.
